Can Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Be Removed From My Credit Report Before 10 Years? Chapter 7 bankruptcy stays on your credit report for 10 years. There's no way to remove a bankruptcy filing from your credit report early if the information is accurate.

The bankruptcy public record is deleted from the credit report either seven years or 10 years from the filing date of the bankruptcy, depending on the chapter you filed. Chapter 13 bankruptcy is deleted seven years from the filing date because it requires at least a partial repayment of the debts you owe

How do I get a dismissed chapter 13 off my credit report?

There are two ways you can go about removing bankruptcy information from your credit report:

  1. Disputing the item with all three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) to get the information removed entirely. ...
  2. Asking the court to remove the bankruptcy filing directly from your record.

Delete address attached to bankruptcy if you have moved.

Ask credit bureau for a method of verification letter

DO NOT dispute bankruptcies until you get the method of verification first

Only seeking, who gave the bureau the information

If the court verified

Please be advised

The court does not provide information to credit bureaus, however bankruptcy filings are public information and are made available at the public terminals in the clerk’s office and thru the courts pacer system, www.pacer.us.gov, for a small fee. If  you have any questions, please contact me directly

“The clerk’s office does not report validate or confirm bankruptcy filings to the credit bureaus”

Mail the letter from the clerk, the method of verification letter and 609 dispute letter to the credit bureau.

“There is no way that you validated this information thru the courts, the court states they never validated this please delete this immediately”

7 Most Common Errors Found In Credit Reports

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) reports that 76 percent of consumers who filed complaints about credit reporting stated that they had incorrect information on their credit reports.

When you review your credit report, be sure to check every single detail very carefully. If it is wrong, that can be grounds for you to dispute the record and have it removed.

Common Errors Found On Your Credit Report:

Be sure to check (and double-check) the following.

Any Supporting Documentation (payment records, bank statements, court documents, etc.)
